/ About

An aeon is a long time. We build like it.

Aeon is a senior software consultancy. We design new systems, modernize old ones, and keep both running for years. Every engineer is senior. The team works remotely by default. We started in 2026 with one promise: stay accountable after launch.

/01 Why Aeon

The name is the promise.

The name An aeon is an age

Most teams build software for the next release. We build for the next decade. The name reminds us that the system must still work after the people who built it leave.

The mark An Omega that stays open at the top

Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. It stands for the end state, the system in production. The gap at the top means the work is never fully closed.

The promise We stay accountable

Launch is not the end of our job. We monitor, patch, and document what we build. When your team takes control, you get a handover you can audit.

/02 How we are organized

Few people. Clear owners. Everything in writing.

These five rules apply to every team that works on your system.

  1. Senior engineers only

Every person who works on your code has released and run production systems before.

  2. Small teams

Each engagement gets a small team, so each person understands the whole system.

  3. One engineer owns each system

You know who is responsible. That person makes the technical decisions and answers your technical questions.

  4. Engineers on every scoping call

Engineers join every scoping call. Senior engineers do all the work.

  5. Written culture

We keep decisions, estimates, and status in documents. Every meeting has notes you can read.

/03 Where we work

We work remotely, on hours we agree with you.

Written status and agreed hours keep the work visible to you.

Example of one team spread across time zones.

Example only. Every team is different.

  • Remote by default

We hire the right engineer for the work, not the nearest one.

  • Overlap hours agreed per client

We set a daily window for calls and pairing. Everyone knows when the other side is online.

  • Written status, so time zones matter less

We record status, decisions, and questions in writing. You read them in your morning, not ours.

/04 Principles

Six rules we do not negotiate.

These rules shape the process in every engagement model.

  1. Decisions on paper

Every decision, estimate, and change has a document you can read.

  2. Tests before release

Nothing reaches production without automated tests and a human review.

  3. Made for the next team

Any competent team can continue our work with the documentation we leave.

  4. Ranges, not guesses

We give each estimate as a range, name what drives it, and update it when facts change.

  5. Least access, always

Each person gets only the access the work needs. We encrypt data and audit dependencies on every build.

  6. Steady in incidents

Every incident follows a runbook and gets a timeline and a blameless review.

/05 Who we work with

Companies where the software must not stop.

We describe the situations where our work fits best.

  • Operations-heavy companies

Logistics, manufacturing, field services. The software runs the business every hour of the day.

  • Regulated industries

Finance, health, energy. Every change needs an audit trail and a security review.

  • Founders with a working product

The product has users. Now it must scale without a rewrite or an outage.

  • Teams with a legacy system

The system works, but few people understand it. It needs a safe path to something new.
